La porteña areco

This far mis the oldest one in the area, with more than 180 years. It recalls the atmosphere of this period, when the writer Ricardo Güiraldes, who wrote one the most famous piece of Argentine and Latin American literature: “Don Segundo Sombra”, among others, spent a lot of time since he was a child. This place inspired him for his best pages for he observed the life and habits of the gauchos he praised and talked about in his novels.

This farm was listed among the National Historic Heritage because its typical style is still intact with its wide covered with adobe.

Patricia Schultz chose it to represent the Traveler’s Life List in her book 1000 places to see before you die, which is seen as #1 best seller by the New York Times.

Don Augusto Campo & Polo is located in Pilar (45 minutes from Buenos Aires), in the area called Paraje Ellerstina. It is surrounded by the best polo clubs in the world. In a 37 hectare property, with an old wood, the club  has two polo fields, one taqueo field, 2 country style houses, a Club House, a swimming pool, a big barbecue shed, a football field and a nice lagoon. The club is officially listed in the Argentine Association of Polo, which is a guarantee of quality.

If you want to spend some nice days in the country, enjoying the nature around, we offer you to stay in our farm where you’ll be able to eat delicious homemade food and to experience fully the quiet place and our horses.

The country house is divided into two aisles by a large living room-dining room with a large fireplace, a bar and a kitchen. In one of the aisles, there are two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with two single beds) and a bathroom.

The other aisle also has two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with a single bed) and a bathroom.

Counrty house

HUT

The hut has two bedrooms (one with a double bed and one with two single beds), two bathrooms and there is also an attic with two extra beds. Next to the hut, there is a loft with a bathroom and three beds. The loft can also be used as a large room for a couple. A  total of 16 people can be accommodate in Don Augusto.

We can adapt the rooms according to the client’s choice.

The club was officially registered in the Argentine Polo Association, which garantees the quality of our facilities.

POLO DAY

Our guests have exclusivity on the farm. The food and drinks are of first quality.

The polo day includes the following services:

10:00 a.m.: Travel from Buenos Aires to the farm.

11:00 a.m.: Welcoming to the farm with facturas (biscuits), mate and soft drinks.

11:30 a.m.: Polo lesson with a bilingual instructor.

1:00 p.m.: Typical barbecue.

2:30 p.m.: Free. Options: Swimming pool, football field, volley court.

4:30 p.m.: Intensive polo lesson, Stick&Ball.

6:00 p.m.: Merienda (snack) homemade cakes, mate, tea, coffee and soft drinks.

6.45: Back to Buenos Aires.

SHOW MATCHES:

If our guests want to enjoy a polo match, Don Augusto organizes a 4 chukkers show with top-of-the-range players. The show matches take place during the low season (from February to April), and during the high season (from September to mid-December). During the match, an instructor comments on and explains the different strategies and game rules and offers drinks and nibbles to eat to the spectators ,who are comfortably seated in futons.

POLO CLINICS WITH ACCOMMODATION IN THE FARM

During the polo clinics, we accommodate our guests in the farm, providing them with all commodities so that they feel at home. In a familiar atmosphere, with delicious homemade meals, our guests fully experience Argentine Polo and the Pampa.

Our bilingual professional instructors are constantly by the side of our guests to teach them the secrets of this exciting sport through videos, practical lessons and matches. There are more than 40 horses playing in the club.

Poloclinics

FREE TAQUEO

If you don’t want to take polo classes or play a match, you can play taqueo freely with our horses. We can leave as many horses as you need at your disposal, each one can play taqueo for 15 minutes as a maximum.
